When i was first diagnosed, my husband and I were devastated. We cried all night. In the morning we both looked at each other and said "That feels awful" From that moment on we chose to look forward. Sure there have been different emotional feelings along the way, especially when I had a secondary diagnosis 4 years later. At the time of the first surgery, I had been working full time for a long time in a stressful job and my thoughts were "At least I will get a good night sleep from the operation" You will be surprised at the love you receive from family and friends. I just wore a tight fitting singlet top underneath. The ones from target and they come in all types of colours. I find them really comfortable. All the best Emma xxx Also your breast care nurse should be able to get you a post surgery bra for no cost.
I was exactly the same, still am. I have had surgery and am about to start chemo/herceptin tomorrow. I know what you're going through-you appear strong to everyone and then when you're on your own, meltdown. Just take it as it comes, probably better to cry than to bottle it in.
