Most people know very little about different types of breast cancer and media promote the bald brave woman image so I guess everyone assumes bc means chemo.
Most celebrities that have promoted breast cancer treatment etc have required chemo.
Christina applegate hasn't. ..but she had much less publicity at the time. - June1952MemberI think some people just assume chemo with any similar diagnosis.
As Brenda said, not everyone requires chemo but if there was any doubt you would have been encouraged to do so.
With a fellow osteo sufferer I can relate to your frustration but you will get past this pain level. I now see an acupuncturist so pain killers are rarely required. Over the years I have learnt to 'pace' myself and on those really bad days when my legs won't work I make sure a good book is at hand. Have you got a support network, someone you can talk to ? - Brenda5MemberNot everyone has chemo or radiation. I did have chemo but the radiation specialist said 'in my case' it might do more harm than good so I opted out for that one.
Four years on and yes I still have pain and mobility troubles with the arm and chest. I just rub it in with something and move on. Not much can be done about it. As to if the cancer will come back. I will worry about that if or when it ever happens. Life's too short to be worrying constantly about it. I do still attend all Dr and specialist appointments.
