Paclitaxel

I haven't lost eyebrows or eyelashes yet. Hope it stays that way...

Ccasper - Im fair, so I just drew eyebrows on, but a little trick I learnt was I wore eyeliner on the top lid and you couldnt tell I didnt have eyelashes LOL. I found the loss of eyelashes hard, so this helped. :) 

Thank you both for your response. I'm holding on to my eyebrows and eyelashes as I lost my hair pretty quickly. I'll just have to become good at drawing them on

@ccasper - My hand rash started in the first few weeks/infusions of Taxol and continued the entire way spreading across my whole hand, it disappeared once you stop. It's not got to do with the Taxol being administered on the hand, its purely the Taxol itself that causes the rash. If it happens and it doesnt to everyone, let your team know and they'll recommend a cream to help with the itch. I lost all eyelashes and eyebrows after FEC and heading into Taxol, within a few weeks they were all completely gone. They came back absolutely no problem post treatment though takes a while and eyelashes were long as previously. Only thing was within weeks of coming back they all fell out again, which I learnt was common. It only happened once and Im 9 months post chemo now and all good :) 

@ccasper I didn't get any kind of hand rash. But my skin was sensitive overall...I couldn't wear a necklace and bandaids tore my skin. My eyelashes and eyebrows are almost completely gone. ..it was gradual and don't  seem to have reapeared yet 5 weeks later. My hair started growing back on the weekly taxol...much to my surprise. ..although it is silver now. 

Hi ladies. I have a few questions for those that may have been through the treatment or currently are (sorry for hijacking the post)
- did your eyelashes and eyebrows fall out? Having AC they haven't as yet
- did the hand rash come up because the chemo was administered there? Is it the same with a port?

Oh I saw someone mention a hand rash, I too had that the entire way through Taxol, but it quickly disappeared once I finished. Its quite common to develop the hand rash too. 

Tarnya, I'm so sorry to hear of your bone pain, unfortunately I did say about day 3. I did find the pain was cumulative and didnt let up until I had well and truly finished 8 weeks of Taxol. I did have 4 rounds of FEC prior to that though and was quite ill. The only thing I found that worked as was drug sensitive was taking 2 Panadol Osteo together with 2 Nurofen. I also had mild neuropathy in my toes and Im 9 months post Chemo...no big deal though honestly. You'll get there.

Yep day 4 feels better. Less bone pain but still very uncomfortable.  

I'm on day 4 after 1st taxol. Have just finished 4 X dose dense AC and now doing 4 X dose dense taxol. Bone pain/ ache started yesterday. Painful and hard to get comfortable hopefully will pass soon, heat pack helps a little but haven't found anything else helps yet. Still feeling better then AC
