Just took my first little white pill

Well the day finally arrived and I took my little white Tamoxifen pill this morning.

I was terribly nervous and anxious and I waited for a bomb to drop with side effects....weird I know!

I went through Chemo with relative ease, then radiation knocked me a bit with severe burns and pain but this white pill was the ultimate monster to me.

But Im now a 'Tamox Girl' like so many of you out there and I'm going to cross everything that I dont have any side effects and if I do - I pray they are minimal!

Hope you are all well.

xxxx
Jodie

  • I took a good month to get over that extreme fatigue after radiation finished so just rest and you'll feel a little more like yourself soon. Deanne xxx
  • girls,

today Im extremely tired. Feel exhausted actyally. Do you think I should try taking it at night rather than the morning?.

look forward to your replies xxx

  • I have been on Tamoxifin a few months now and its not too bad, I was on Arimidex and the side effects were just too much for me, but with Tamoxifin there are the hot flushes and like Royn says they do get tiresome I also get cramping.

So I take magnisium for the cramping and Calcium with vitamin D for my bones.

    Take care and good luck

  • I started tamoxifen 2 weeks ago and like you felt very anxious about taking it. I worked myself up over nothing. So far so good! I take mine at night as recommended by some ladies on here. I get still get hot flushes but they are no where near or as frequent as when I was having chemo. Good luck!

  • Thanks Deanne xxx I'm taking it in the morning because be read many people prefer it in the morning. I'm a little nauseous tonight but I've read that should pass in a few days? Xx
  • Oh Robyn. When is your shot? Ill be thinking of you. I think you hit the nail on the head. We do go through so much and that pill is the constant reminder for so long xxx
  • Hi Jodie, isn't it strange how we fear this after everything else.I think it's because it's for so long.I am definitely tired of the hot flushes, but that's about it, so I'm not complaining. I am about to have my first denosumab needle for my osteo, and I am VERY worried about it, even more than the Tamoxifen. But I know I will b ok, just have to DO IT! :) Stay in touch Jodie and let us know how u go. Cheers Robyn xxx
