  • Hi,

I have just gone through the same process today. Only 2 nights ago it started coming out in clumps. Couldnt believe how it happened - id heard all about it but still cant believe how quick. So my daughter ( 12 years ) and I have just finished shaving it and she says i look like a baby chicken lol. I have a wig and several benies which I have attached my hair extensions to in the form of 2 plaits which look exactly like my own. Good luck and get them clippers out soon, you will also feel empowered getting on top of this yourself. Best wishes xxxx

  • Thankyou Sweet lovely  ladies , i am greatful for your help  and gave me details  , now i am  looking on line and buy headcovers   and  will shaving  before  next week 2nd chemo  treatment

  • I always seem to be following Deanne and I whole heartedly agree with what she has told you. I found the 'Look Good Feel Better' work shop invaluable. Do try and book in with them. Look after yourself Janey xxx

  • Yes your head does get very sore and irritated as the hair starts to fall out. Shaving it does help to reduce the discomfit and mess. Getting a scarf or headcover would be a good idea. I am finding it too hot now to wear anything on my head except when I go out. I wear a wig then. I got my headcovers from the Cancer Council on line and also some from Headcovers.com. If you can get to one of the Look Good Feel Better workshops they have great sources of different wigs and headcovers. Take care Deanne xx
