I have the chance to wear a cold cap when I start chemo next month. The nurse wets your hair, rubs conditioner in it and you put the cap on that has -20 degrees water running through it! Has any one ...
Absolutely worth trying if you are lucky enough to have the option. It worked brilliantly for me. You are best to do your home work first and not leave everything up to the nurses. Some of them are very good with the cold cap and some not so much. Most nurses leave it up to you to do the wetting down and conditioner. The fit against your scalp is the make or break of it. I did not find it anywhere near as torturous as you read about. It's not fun and the first time is a bit of a shock to the system but after that you know what to expect. If you would like anymore info just pm me. I have a walk through of hints and tips.
