Hi Kym, I managed to source some caps from Artic heat Gold Coast, hopefully they will be here Monday, I start chemo on Wednesday, they say using these ones are between 20 to 50% hair loss, recommended from another patient, although the nurse said her chemo mix was slightly different to mine, but I’m willing to to try all the same, these ones go in your freezer, the expensive ones, you have to buy dry ice, and rent the caps starting from 399 a month, I brought mine total including shipping was 260, I had my first surgery on the 22nd Jan, they removed 2 tumours they knew about, and took off half my breast from both sides, the tissue they took from my left showed another 3 tumours and invasive cancer, I have 6 months of chemo to do, and then having a mastectomy, and they removing the remaining lymph nodes under left arm, as the found cancer in the ones they took out. Never thought I would be doing this. I wish u well and happy to chat anytime x

    Hi Charlene,
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm hoping you're managing this hairy, wild ride and that things are going as well as they can for you. I can certainly relate to "never thought I'd be doing this. So, you're 2 weeks into chemo now...Thinking of you.
I had lumpectomy in '23 invasive, left side and now the right side's decided to join the dance and they'll both be gone on the 1st of April. I'm trying all the tricks recommended to stay on top of things and managing pretty well, this side of it all. Usually pretty active so that'll be tricky for a while.
Feel lucky to have the team I know around me here in Townsville, they truly have been amazing - couldn't imagine going through it all in a 3rd World country, it'd be such a nightmare. Also happy to chat anytime, share tips, or just vent.
Wishing you restful sleep and warmth around you,
    Kind Regards,
    Kym
