Work

I have returned to work.

I am a real estate agent.  I will only get paid when I have earned the money and sold some property that has settled.  It usually takes between 120 to 150 days.

In the interim, there is a lot of preparation needing to be done to get me back in the mix.

I have been back 6 days and it has been very humbling.

I live in a small country town.  9 people visited me in my 17 months off work.  The lack of visitors was surprising.

Through social media I have stayed in touch with many many people.....and I have lost count of the number of people who have told me that they have "followed" my journey on facebook and love how positive I am about everything.

I came back to work and have had 14 people get in touch with me in one week, asking me to list their properties, re-assess properties that are already listed and provide them with current market analysis.

Clearly I am respected for my work......

This journey has been humbling in many ways and overwhelming in others.

How great that you have returned to work.It is a real milestone in your recovery! I have come to the conclusion that a lot of people, when they hear you have cancer, decide to let you 'do what you have to do' because they really don't know just how to be of help.I didn't have a lot of visitors either, but now everyone is happy to make an encouraging comment...'your hair looks great' 'you look so well' 'you look better than before" and so on. How great that so many people have approached you about their properties.Just remember to take time for yourself, because returning to work can be very tiring I am sure.Take carexoxRobyn

Yes, Robyn I think that there is an element of cancer = dying.

When you are back up and at it, then they can be positive that you're not?

Makes you safe to be around - is it catching?

I am so pleased you are back at it, I felt so good when I came back last October I felt like I was taking control of my life again and it felt good.

Just take it easy, its hard to not rush things but after so long off it takes a bit to get your mojo up and running.

Interesting on the lack of visitors, my closest friends came and loads follwed me online and sent me txts and emails but to be honest I sort of closed the door a bit too, I really didn't always want to see people.

    You take care
