My most memorable experience of the past Fields of Women was seeing how many people I knew who had all connected on the field. Groups of families, women, men, support people, sponsors, team members – I felt that we were all in this together.

As Field of Women 2014 gets closer, we wanted to hear about your experiences at past Field of Women events.

What made it a memorable experience for you?

I stood on the Field in 2010 with my beautiful family and friends!

We stood for my Aunty who was diagnosed with breast cancer but who sadly left our sides but never our hearts.

This is Jared and I on the field

Hi Lynne, we like you, were very dissappointed that we could not hold the Field of Women in Sydney last year.  Sadly the Sydney Swans and Telstra Stadium were not able to provide the logistics to ensure we all had a great experience.

I can assure you we tried everything we could.  The logistics of the event are significant and with the SCG not able to hold  the 15,000 pink ponchos and 120 blue before an AFL match, Telstra Stadium was our only option.

A group of other Sydney members, who are also very disappointed about last year, have decided to have a party and watch the Field of Women on Channel 7 this year.

The whole team here at BCNA have our thinking caps on to hopefully come up with a new concept that will be just as powerful for all our members in Sydney and infact all other states to get involved in the future.

    Thanks for getting in touch

    Kirsten

On the 28th April it will be 6 years since I was diagnosed. 2008 was a hell of a year the last 6 months of it was surgery, chemo, radiation and then Tamoxifin, then back to work. I never thought I would one day be a pink lady but I'm happy to be in the company of some inspirational sisters.

I did 2010 Field of Women and it was one of the most moving things Ive ever been to.  When they asked us to put up our hands if your a survivor I just cried, and said "yes I made it"

I will be doing the 2014 Field of Women with my family and friends.  I'm doing it this time with them, but 2010 my daughter was the only one I wanted with me as everything was still very raw and I didnt want anyone else, I just needed to find the peace myself.

Sorry Sydney was cancelled but glad its in my hometown.

    See you all there  xxxxxxx

I stood as a supporter of BCNA on the MCG for the first ever Pink Lady event with my daughters ,sisters and friends .It was a powerfully moving event and tears flowed as I watched so many women around me raise their hands as survivors. I didn't know then that I too would have my own breast cancer journey in 2012! It is with regret that due to a family wedding I cannot stand on The MCG on the 10th and raise my hand surrounded by my daughters , sisters and dear friends who so wonderfully supported me on my journey...I will however take a moment on the dance floor that evening to raise my arms and be with you all in spirit. Thank You BCNA for the wonderful work you continue to do and best wishes for a great Pink Lady Event.
