It's been ages........
Hello to all you lovely ladies out there :-) It's been a long time since I have written a blog on here...
In June 2011 I was diagnosed with TNBC & had a diep flap prophelatic bilateral mastectomy & have been sailing rather smothly until last week when I found a new lump on my right quadrant wall of my opposite breast,,,,,,,of course it was early hours of the morning when I found it & like the 1st one I found it just by accident & when I felt it my blood ran cold through my viens as it does with us all! I have seen the Breast specialist at the Royal Melbourn Hospital last Thursday & he thought it's unlikely to be a new tumor but I have to wait for my ultrasound appointment to be made by the receptionist at radiology as I couldn't make it whilst at the hospital as for some unknown reason the radiographer had to see it 1st :-/ the specialist said it must be investigated within the next week or two no later.....It feels just like a hematomor just like my 1st tumor felt like so I'm a little on edge but basically taking each day as it comes...if it's a new tumor then i'll cross that bridge when I come to it........I'm not sure I will have treatment again, I have grown my hair right down to the middle of my back in 2 years & it's lovely curly red ringlets & I'm quite fond of it..........Anyway just thought I'd get it off my chest .....no punn intended either :-)
Thank you for listening,
In Love & Light,

Hi Susan,
How awful for you to have to wait so long for an ultrasound. The waiting is always the worst part. We always jump to the worse case scenarios when something pops up. I think that is something we can all appreciate, as that fear never really goes. I hope it will all work out for you in the end. Many of us have had good results, following similar scares. I had a lump show up on ultrasound just prior to my second prophylactic mastectomy. This time the radiologist said it looked highly suspicious, and a core biopsy would be needed. I was very worried and the wait for results was awful. They came back as benign, and the relief was wonderful. I am sure there will be some other positive blogs posted here.

Thanks Leonie,
I wasn't panicking until I called radiology & asked when my ultrasound appointment was & she said the 4 of Feb for core biopsy.......my blood ran cold for a while there & my mind is all over the place thinking of all the what if's! But I shall try to bide my time until next week & then panick if need be.......
I've been popping on here still just to keep a check on everyone :-) I was wondering about Sam how is she going?
Brightest Blessings,

Which Sam - If you are asking about Samantha Cunnington - I am sorry to advise that Samantha passed away early last year. There were a lot a beautiful ladies who "got their pink wings" last year. MandyMoo, Tracey from BCNA online to name a few of the beautiful ones. Extremely sad and they would not like us to dwell on their deaths but to live our lives to the highest heights. Thinking of you Susan - hoping for the best for you. XLeonie

I am so sorry that you've had a scare and hope with all my heart that its nothing.
I know what you mean about the core biopsy, once you have been through the mill like we all have when a doctor mentions one of those awful tests for more needles I instantly clench. I know I must get past this but at this point it just plunges me into a dark place again.
Anyway, its not long till the 4th, fingers crossed that its nothing serious.
Sending hugs
Donna

If you contact Daina Jones, IT Administrator, she will be able to let you know. I am in a Facebook group for Secondary Cancer and there is a record of Pink Angels. I am doing great - going back to fulltime permanent work on 10th February. My husband is the sickie now with heart failure. I am hoping to get a little bit of normal when I am at work. XLeonie

Hi Julia, thank you for your blessings, & to answer your question yes that where it can come back & also on the outer layer of the breast skin so if you feel any hard lumps on your skin just under the surface get it checked just in case but generally it's uncommon. My lump is on the wall so that's why i'm just a little concerned.....sufice to say that I'll be relieved to hear some good news hopefully :-)

Thank you all you lovely ladies who replied to me I really appreciate it :-) I had my ultrasound yesterday & the radiographer said she couldn't see anything so all I have to do is attend my Drs. appointment tomorrow for the results....so good news this week!
Last week however I was diagnoses with type 2 diabetes & my Dr. said it was probably a result of the chemo I had & it sucked all my insulin supplies out of my pancreas :-/ so now I'm on Diaforman & even though I've always maintained a well balanced diet I have to now have diabetic meals which I've noticed do not in any way need to be boring & tasteless......I enjoy cooking so it's a new chellege for me even though it's also a pain in the backside not being able to eat what I want when I want....but hey I'm alive & well & that is the main thing! :-) Has any one else been diagnosed with diabetes due to chemo? I look forward to hearing from y'all
