IMPORTANT: planned site update
Hi all,
We are planning to deploy an update for the network, most likely tomorrow (Wednesday) around midday, so the site will be offline for a short while at that time.
Included in the update are a number of small bug-fixes, but also some new functionality, that you will notice:
Group Events
This new functionality will provide a way for Online Groups to post an 'event'. What this means is that each group will have a new tab in the edit screen where you can create a 'group event' (see screen grab below).
As an example, if you're planning a get-together for your group (meeting, coffee, etc.), or a public fundraising event, you can list it there. All public Group events will show up on the Network homepage in a new tab called 'Latest Network Events', so this is a really good way to publicise your events.

Online shop
We've also finished the first part of the work that will allow us to have a brand new online shop. As a result of that, you will notice a new tab appear in your 'edit profile' screen, labelled 'Orders' (see screen grab below). You can ignore this for now, but the good news is that when we have the new shop functioning, you'll be able to see a history of your orders in that screen (as long as you logged in when you made a purchase). We'll give you some more news about that when we have all the work done. (edit: looks like the order tab won't be visible until you actually make an order, which you can't do yet, so ... yes. You won't see it yet!

Hopefully all will go smoothly and there will be minimal disruption. As with previous updates, none of the existing content should be disturbed, your profile and blog entries will remain unchanged.
