Im a 40 yr old mum of three kids. I also have severe depressive bipolar. Last year two lumps turned up that turned out to be sebaceous cyst.  After 6 months of trying to get rid of them I was offered surgery. I had a mammo and ultrasound.  The bottom cysts was vesticular and the radiologist sais it looked angry. Then the recalled me for spot mammo but nothing showed up. Then I had general breast clinic. Last week I had the sebaceous cyst removed from my left breast after surgery no dr came to see me and no one said the surgery went fine. I was just told I have a breast clinic appointment this wed and I went home. On friday I got my appointment but it is for the breast clinic in the olivia newton john cancer Center.  Now I dont want to work myself up but I thought if I had first app in normal clinic why am I now going to other clinic. Scars are 5 cm long I was told they would be smaller than 1cm. And I have wat looks like a biopsy puncture site. My friend who is a cancer survivor said they may have just biopsied to check. Now whilst we wrre talking I mentioned another lump that is hard and doesn't move. She had a feel and said I should mention it at my appointment on wed. so my question is should I b worried.

    Hi iamme

I think you shouldn't panic or worry until you've seen a doctor and received a complete diagnosis of what's been found. I know it's scary to be in the dark but there may be nothing to worry about.

Please let us know how you go with your appointment.

    Sending hugs,

Ok just finished at the dr all came up good from the op and biopsy. She did mention they found a nodule under my arm and the one at 12 o'clock but she wasn't concerned much she said though to just monitor it through a couple cycle s and have another mammo and ultrasound in jan but I think ill go to my gp and get another referral to put my mind at ease. Thank u for ur support.
As lovely as the clinic was im very angry that they made me have this appointment at olivia newton john cancer Center when there was no need. Its just insane and nerve wrecking to sit and wait and think that there is something wrong. So thank god for valium.

I'm so happy to read that all is good. However, if you have any concerns, please go and follow-up with your doctor. You have to be your own advocate and keep an eye on your health.

    All the best

Thank u both for you wonderful support. I will go to my gp and just ask for an ultrasound of the two nodules just so we can get it documented and measured. That way in 3 months we can redo the scans and compare. Good luck to u both.

    Hi Kimjade

I'm so sorry you're having to go through a difficult emotional experience. From what you have described, I would say that the MRI has shown something that requires further investigation. It doesn't necessarily mean that it is a cancer. The best thing to do is take a deep breath and wait until you've seen the doctor at your appointment.
If it is something sinister then it's very fortunate that you had an MRI scan which has flagged it. The same thing happened to me - I was advised to have an MRI due to family history and my doctor told me that when you are younger, mammograms don't always pick up some cancers. I was shocked when I received a call from my doctor - with hindsight I feel so very fortunate that I am healthy now because I was vigilant and had that scan.
I know it's not easy to relax but it won't help you any to panic as there is probably nothing to panic about.
Good luck with your appointment and let us know how it went,
    Sending good thoughts your way,
    Xxx

Thank you jeanine for responding its a relief that I can ask others questions who have been there. I'm not going to google anymore into it. I'm glad that the testing and to results was not a long wait just extremely concerned from the move from my normal clinic. Will keep you posted once I have the answers thank you for the support xxx

We have all been there and done that on this site! Ask away anytime you have a concern - that's the whole purpose of the network.

    Looking forward to an update,

Thought I'd update my appointment at the Oliver Newton John clinic was to tell me my MRI showed a 1x1.1 lump on left boobie and that something flagged in my liver that was 1.6cm. My doctor said to not google anything but of course I did.
So pretty freaked out at the moment that was a week ago today. Yesterday I had ultrasounds on both areas and now I'm just waiting for a phone call. The lady performing the ultrasound didn't give anything away. All I know is what ever is in my breast is at 2 o'clock. Wish I knew how to read my liver when I asked her a question about it she said that's your kidney. I don't know why I bothered to try working it out at all but not knowing and just waiting is horrible!

    Hi Kimjade.
Thanks for the update. I hope that, by now, you have heard from your doctor and have received your ultrasound results. Chances are, if it's something to worry about, the next step will be a biopsy.

Either way, it's a process you have to work through and panicking about it doesn't help. Do you have someone to support you through all your appointments? It helps to have someone close to you, who you feel comfortable expressing your concerns to.

I have learnt, through my own experience, that it's not helpful to presume that things will be bad. That only creates anxiety which leads to fear. Just wait until you know the facts and then you can decide what to do next. Feel free to post your worries on this site any time you need to - we all understand where you are right now.

Good luck and keep us posted.
    Sending hugs,
