Driving in the Chemo Rain

Getting through Chemo week is like driving in the rain without the windscreen wipers working. You just have to slow down or pull over or you crash!
The Chemo rain has slowed for me on day 6 of round 3 and I think I will be able to rejoin the traffic today.
It's been a tough week and my best friend (8 year old golden retriever) has had a tough one too. She rarely leaves my side (14 hours straight beside my bed without so much as a drink or toilet break on day 1 of this cycle) but has had a fall on our steps. She has a hip problem and the fall has aggravated this and she cannot get up our internal stairs to the living area. I am hoping that a few days of rest will help. She is on anti-inflammatories so fingers crossed that she can be back my side soon.

Thanks for the reply Jane. I have been following your posts and hope that you have some good news about your son soon. It is hard to bounce back from all the effects of treatment when your emotions keep getting hit from all sides.
Thinking of you and sending positive energy your way.

Hi Deanne, aren't pets the most wonderful companions, and they know when it is tough for us. I hope your dear old golden is feeling better soon. They never complain, but we know when they aren't doing well. Give her a big cuddle for me peace. My last dog was a golden retriever, so I have a real soft spot for them. My special boy now is a kelpie cross German shepherd, and he is such a lovely boy. He is sharing the lounge with me in my profile picture. ( naughty boy ). Hope you are feeling better soon. Love Chris xx0
