Hi Ladies,

I'm a BCNA Community Liaison and Online network champion, although I've been away from the online side of things lately. But I am back!

It's nice to see that one of you has created this group :-)

I'm living in Singleton, between Rockingham and Mandurah. Have you had a chance to meet each other in person yet?

I was diagnosed in March 2007, had a lumpectomy, a second surgery, 6 lots of chemo over 18 weeks and a month's worth of radio.

Late last year I discovered I have the BRCA1 gene mutation so had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. And a few weeks later I had my ovaries, tubes and ...brain fail...the other useless bit...removed. A week later, just before Christmas, having trouble breathing and chest pain, I was in hospital with bilateral pulmonary emboli! Blood clots on the lungs. Hmmm...so, now I am on Warfarin for 6 months and living with my tissue expanders until I'm finished with that so I can have the exchange operation to my lovely, squishy foobs!

At the moment my 7 year old gets 2 black eyes every time he rushes up for a hug! The 10 year old isn't much taller!

So, that's it for now. I hope to meet you all some time soon. xxx

Hi Louise and Lee, it would be nice to try and meet up one day. I am slap bang in the middle of Perth in Mt Lawley, and have been here for 3 1/2 weeks now. My permanent implants are firm as well, and after a year, I am not that hopeful that they will become much softer.
