A wig!

After the workshop, two girlfriends had arranged to pick me up and take me into the city to look at wigs. This was a lot of fun although tiring! I tried on several and talked about dos and don'ts and care.

I really wanted something that wasn't too far from my current hair but maybe better! One I quite liked my friends felt the part was too obvious and made it look like a wig! That's what friends are for - to notice what you can't see!

Another couple were darker than I look now and shorter but looked just like I used to before I started lightening my hair with streaks. Something like this might be another purchase down the track when I get closer to going back to work. They also had more body than my natural hair - but that felt good!

So.... I ended up buying one that felt good! Close to my colour now, with a fringe, but longer than my hair now and my natural hair is the longest I've had it in 30 years! So I guess I am playing at pretending I am much younger than 56!! A bit of fun!

Can you pick the one I bought!!?? Note the part is on the other side!

Hmmm contemplated going with one of my girls - nearly thirty... Probably would have got different opinions. Too many cooks spoil the broth... maybe... Anyway I decided that because I don't have to go back to work for a long time I'd go with the long, YOUNG looking version - knew my partner would like that, as he does! But he also liked the third one down too so I am contemplating getting something like that as well particularly as I get closer to going back to work and may feel better with a more corporate look!

    Hey Erica

They all look great. It is a hard process though I know.

I took my one and only very precious daughter with me who was very honest and upfront with me and we made a perfect choice of what my hair used to look like.

I had to have the wig for her high tea at the Duxton!!! for her shower tea for the wedding and then also for their beautiful wedding day. I saw so many people there that I not seen for years and most didn't know I had even had BC let alone chemo. They were soooooo shocked to realise that it wasn't my real hair as that was how they remembered me. I received so many wonderful compliments which has made me decide I will stay with short hair now and not try and grow it again. Mind you it took me years to get it to a reasonable length and it was in the best condition it had ever been in and then I lost the whole bloody lot lol hee hee. I can laught about it now but it wasn't that funny at the time so I do understand where you are coming from.

It was this time last year that I was looking for my wig and I got so much wear out of it and loved it and felt so good in it as I didn't ever have a bad hair day :)

    Lots of love, Mich xoxo

I'm taking a daughter with me tomorrow to another shop that does hats and scarves as well as wigs. So might try some more..... As one girlfriend said - you don't have to pay for haircuts so you may as well have a couple of wigs, feel great and have no bad hair days!
