Ceramic - Plate

I made this plate for our 20th wedding Anniversary.  It was extremely detailed and took months of hand carving (it's 3D) and painting.

    This is the Lamp that I made in ceramics that won the Grand Prize.  I carved out  the flowers and petals so it's hollow around them and you can see to the back of the lamp.  The flowers and leaves are slightly upturned, with the edges painted in 24 ct gold.  The remainder of the vase was painted in a very soft ivory and then finished off with a special mother of pearl glaze.  I also made the lampshade out of some lovely apricot material and edged it with some double drop beads...although it took 6 months - it was worth it!

    Thanks Di...which lamp are you referring to??  No 1 or No 2 (hahaha!)

    Oh, silly me!  I love the second one especially, because I'm a deco fan, too.  But I like the first one, too. :)

    I was just thinking that if you can follow the instructions okay, it might be good if you could add your pics to our flickr account (see the 'about us' text on the community homepage).   We'll be able to see them much bigger there.
