Breast oedema and 'not quite' menopause
I've also been feeling really miserable (despite having always been 'the glass half full' girl). Apparently I'm peri-menopausal, but my period hasn't stopped, and yesterday I got my 2nd period in 3 weeks (maybe that explains the misery)! So, Just wondering if anyone else has been through this feeling and if you have any advice on how to handle things?
I've put on about 7 kilos since I was diagnosed and that's not making me feel any better about myself, although I started back at the gym last week (holding onto the sore boob when I jump up and down).
Anyway, I guess I just needed to vent (sorry about that). But really, any advice on breast oedema, peri-menopausal life, or ways to beat the blues would be much appreciated!
Thanks :-)

Well with the exception of the breast odema this sounds very familiar! I was peri-menopausal before I was diagnosed and I was a misery-guts! Moody, bloated, hardly any periods but when they came - OMG!!! Nothing under 10 days and really heavy as well as painful - hated it!
Ironically the last full on period I had occured on my big 50th birthday party! Happy birthday to moi - NOT! Then 1 yr and a couple months later I had another one - on the day I was having my lumpectomy! Just what I needed...
Anyway there is hope - don't despair! I'd definitely been talking to your GP about your feelings and frequency of the periods. He may be able prescribe you something that will help.
I've looked up a couple of info sites for you regarding the breast oedema.
Here is one : http://www.lymphoedemanz.org.nz/About+Lymphoedema/Breast+Oedema.html
Here is some info I found about a clinical trial regarding breast oedema, but it also offers you a contact name and telephone number where you can get info.
It is called Breast Edema and Exercise Trial (BEET) and is run by the

My heart goes out to you Jo.
I have heard many women have been helped with general oedema by a natural product called Lymphodran.
So I thought you may wish to consider if it would help you with your breast oedema.
The details of what is contained in the product and its general description can be found at: http://www.b2bworld.com.au/hp/category75_1.htm
There is also an upgraded version with an added anti-inflammatory to give it a boost called Lymphodran Plus: http://www.b2bworld.com.au/hp/category106_1.htm
I know both these products have helped a lot of people. Get well soon Jo
