Afternoon All,

I’m writing today about a very exciting BCNA event - Strength to Strength: BCNA’s National Conference 2012!

I know some of you have already registered for Strength to Strength, and we can’t wait to see you in Sydney in October.

It’s been great to read some of you talking about attending the conference – Strength to Strength will provide a great opportunity to meet some of your online network friends in person for the first time!

Many of you know from experience that BCNA has a history of organising fantastic conferences that provide the latest in breast cancer information.  We also have a history of throwing a great party – and Strength to Strength will be no different!

1. Information plus!

Strength to Strength is being held in conjunction with the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute at the Sydney International Breast Cancer Congress (SIBCC), allowing BCNA access to some world-leading international speakers. The program covers a wide range of topics on breast cancer treatment and care, current research and living well after a breast cancer diagnosis.

The issues covered will be topics that BCNA members have told us are important to them. Sessions will cover areas such as: personalised medicine, new directions in treatment, managing relationships with partners, family and friends, dealing with menopausal symptoms, sexual wellbeing, and managing fear and anxiety.

For the final session, the doors between SIBCC and Strength to Strength will be thrown open for a joint debate titled 'Patient centred care: are we there yet?'

Strength to Strength will offer you invaluable information that will empower you in your ongoing journey.

2. Networking (and socialising, of course)

Perhaps just as important as the valuable information, are the connections made through networking at a conference such as Strength to Strength.

The conference is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet others who have been through a similar experience. We hear often from women at our events how powerful it is to be surrounded by women who ‘get it’ and to be able to swap stories and advice.

BCNA will be hosting a special harbour side dinner on the Thursday night - a chance for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.

So we really hope to see as many of you as possible at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on 25 and 26 October 2012.

Please also pass this onto anyone else you think may be interested in attending.

Remember that early-bird registrations close on 23 August ($200) and full-registration ($250) will be open until 22 October 2012.

I’m really looking forward to meeting you and can’t wait to catch up with those I already know.

See you in Sydney,
Maxine

    Hi all,

Just a reminder it's one week until early-bird registrations close for Strength to Strength: BCNA National Conference 2012.

You have until August 23 to pay just $200 for the two-day conference (including the three-course gala diner).  From August 24, registration will be $250.

    Cheers,

    Laura

Hi, can someone advise me if partners (hubby) are to attend the celebration dinner on 25th October (my birthday). I may have to organise something with him/or for him!

Counting the weeks and days down now... Mandy

    Hi Mandy,

Glad you're excited about the conference - it'll be here before we know it!

I'm afraid partners aren't able to come to the dinner - unless they have registered and paid to attend the conference themselves.  As the celebration dinner is included in the conference registration, it is just for those registered and attending the whole two-day conference.

If you do decide to join us at the dinner, we'll be sure to celebrate your birthday in style with all the other pink ladies!

    Cheers,

    Laura
