Hi everyone, I had my tissue expanders replaced with silicone gel implants & find that they are very cold, is this normal? My surgery was a month ago, not sure if it changes with time? Wldn't think so.
Thanks in advance

My implant was as the old saying is, stone motherless cold. Today it's cold but not all over the breast. I went to see a Physio who recommend a Physio specialising in lymphatic drainage massage. Getting the fluids moving that need to find new pathways after mastectomy has helped.  I had a lot of pain discomfort in and around the sternum. Much better now after umpteen visits!
    Take care

Thanks for that. I've noticed on the cold days & often notice getting out of shower that they are cold. I have my lymphodema physio monday for cording, looks like i may need several appts with her then. Does the expense of treatment ever end?
    Thanks

Take care and hopefully once you have a lymphatic drainage massage you will feel some benefit!!  It is so different to a deep tissue massage and you will feel nauseated initially but boy it's worth it!

My implants do not feel cold. I've had them for 7 years.

Thanks, good to know. I thought it was odd. Maybe I have some other issues going on, hopefully not though

I get cool skin in cold weather. I just wear a nice Tshirt bra (which  needs no tight straps) or wear a singlet or crop.  We now only have surface veins and I think the silicone takes a lot more to warm up that tbe saline does.
it didn't bother me in Summer.

Thanks, I was thinking it might be a winter problem & cos I got them at the end of May i've only had them for the cold weather
