What's been happening?
Hi Everyone
Hope things are going well - wherever you are!
Been a while since we were together at the National Summit in Melbourne - listening, learning and sharing ideas. Lots of energy, inspiration and enthusiasm, too! I have so many special memories.
I'm in the Coffs Harbour region. Have just finished updating our 'Local Services Directory' on BCNA website - finally!! Has taken a while to review existing listings and research new ones. Am very thankful for input from breast cancer nurse, businesses and bc support group in my local area.
Had some feedback from first-time users who found it a bit tricky to find this directory (via 'Understanding BC' link).Wondering if 'Find Services and Support in Your Area' could appear on its own, on BCNA Homepage - to promote access and use of directory by more people. Sounds like a good idea - what do you think?
Also am trying to improve our local BCNA Support Group webpage - by including more local events and news. Having a few problems attaching some photos. Am hoping that more visual content will engage more interest. Another idea I'm working on is sharing 'monthly meeting update' - eg info and resources shared by guest speakers/ group members. Would love to hear your ideas - things you've tried that have worked? any unexpected outcomes?
Am keeping in touch with the online network where I feel I'm still learning and sharing with others in positive ways. Appreciate that it's a huge job for BCNA team to manage and facilitate this network - especially as technology and security impact on all of us, as users. Sorting out these problems is an ongoing challenge! I have really valued the help and advice offered to me when I've needed it- and encourage others to ask for help, too.
Look forward to hearing what's been happening in your local community, too.
Cheers
Di

Hi Di,
Thank you for that feedback about the website and the LSD I will share this with our website manager. I agree it can be hard to find the LSD for a new person that's why we try to point members in that direction through linking it in to a comment if they have ask questions about support or services in their area.
What you have done for your page is just Fantastic. It's so good that you have shared events and services the way you have. For anyone wanting to check this out click here.
We are here anytime to help each and everyone of you out. I'm just a phone call away and I really enjoy talking to our members.
We know you are all doing wonderful things out in your community and would really love to hear about it, so do share.

Hello,
Anything to improve LSD will help. It is worth noting being an Admin for a bc chat room I find a large amount of ladies are not technology savvy. I spend a lot of time helping ladies to understand how to use our site, let alone anything more complicated. This is an ongoing problem as there are always newly diagnosed ladies looking for help.
Regards
Dianne

Hi Dianne,
Thank you for your feedback. Totally understand where you are coming from. I chat with a number of new members weekly either on the phone or over email to help them through signing up to using the website. Thank you for supporting these ladies, I think right now that is the best we can do.
