Relay for Life
Our local Relay for Life takes place in Orbost over the weekend. Tomorrow at 12pm my husband and I will be involved in the Survivor walk, after which we have been invited to a special survivor lunch. Later in the day, I've had the privilege of being invited to light a candle in the Twilight Candle ceremony. They will be lighting a past, present, and a future candle, then there will be a twilight walk to follow. I've been asked to light the present candle and say a couple of lines for the ceremony. For the twilight walk, people can purchase a brown paper bag where they can write a dedication to a loved one, past, presently being treated and a survivor. The bags are anchored with sand in them, and a candle lit, and these are placed around the oval for people to read on the twilight walk. I will be putting in a bag for my brother Les, who passed away 4 years ago with stomach cancer. I will think of you all and send out some positive wishes for you all along my walk. Love and cuddles to you all, Trace ????????

Oh Trace, that ceremony sounds beautiful! I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Different types of cancer touches everyone's lives. I can jst imagine what all the candles look like on the oval. You'll have to post a pic if yo get the chance. What a fantastic community yo live in.
All the best for tomorrow, Karen xx
