    Hi Nicky,

what a shock this must be to you. I'm guessing you're still trying to get your head around the diagnosis while your in a head spin of tests, surgery and procedures? Your treatment team is doing all they can to find out the extent of your bc and the best way to help you. That means for a few weeks there'll be lots of tests and not many answers. There are some great resources out there to help you

    - this site can send you a "My Journey" kit that helps with all your questions, really helpful

    - both public & private health systems have Breast Care Nurses who are an invaluable support through this confusing time, ask for help

    - find a support person to come with you

Every woman's bc is different, but that initial confusion is something we each experience. You're not alone Nicky, we are here for you. You will make it through this challenging time,

    sending you hugs,

    Tracey xox

Hi Nicky, welcome to the network. Sounds pretty normal to me, however we all have varied treatments depending on our diagnosis and surgery. Most of us have bone and ct scans during the diagnosis time, so your treatment team can discuss your ongoing treatment options. I hope that your results are good for you, and that your treatment and recovery goes speedily for you. Please keep checking in with us all, so that we can give you support along the way. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ??????

Sounds very normal to me Nicky. I had my surgery 4 weeks ago and just had bone scan, ct, egg and MRI last week before starting chemo two days ago. Try not to worry (easier said than done). They just need baseline scans for many different purposes that are to your advantage. I hope your surgery goes well.

Once I found my lump I had a mamagram, ultrasound and then biopsy.  The following week had bone an and ct scan.  Two weeks later had a right mastectomy. I am unsure if this is the usual routine but it just seem to fall into this order.  I am up to chemo starting 6th November. Hang in there and keep in contact as it helps along the way.  Kris

Yes. Most people have a few days of testing at the start.

The timing could be due to many things other than you. Like ....the machine is going to be serviced, they like to schedule all your appointments around the same time as they think it is less intrusive, takes different amounts of time to get results back, dr so and so is going on holidays for two weeks so let's do this test anyway just in case we need it.... You can't second guess these things. Could be any number of reasons.
