Howdy team.....I have been a member of this life line since mid 2012, pretty much the day I was diagnosed and referred by my GP. I found I really enjoyed the online network and after having nowhere to go when I was undergoing breast reconstruction, I decided to start a group myself (with Daina's help of course).
In August 2013 I launched the Breast Reconstruction Online Group and we have grown to a community of almost 800 members. I have a crew of volunteers helping facilitate this group, the two stars Paula and Chris are coming along to the Summit as well.
I am looking forward to meeting my online friends face to face, and getting the latest tips and tricks for facilitating the group.
Catch you all soon XXXLouie

Louie!!!! Can't wait to see you at Summit. This time two years ago, i tought I should try and sneak you into Summit in Sydney and it was a great move. You have established an amazing community of your own within BCNA's online network - supporting so many others. Congrats to you and your team of champs. Glad you can all make it down. Maybe I should print up profile names along with pictures so you can all put a face to a profile picture in our first workshop on the Thursday morning. xx

Hi Louie and Chris,
How weird is it that we all work so closely and have never met. So looking forward to it.
Daina, Love the profile pic idea. No one will pick me from my pic as I am covered in paint

Hi I am Ang, 37, from Brighton, Tas (35ks north of Hobart). 3.5 years since diagnosis.
I am actually finding it very hard to navigate this Web Site. It has only taken me 2 hours to work out how to find this thread.......and I think of myself as semi tech savvy.
What can I tell you ladies? Diagnosed HER2+, Estrogen+, Lumpectomy left breast. I have been thorough the joys of chemo, radiation, early onset menopause, 12 months of Herceptin, a lot of time off work.
I am the founder of a facebook Page - Pink Sisters - Tassie. Created so that Tassie ladies had a support mechanism. There are other support groups that meet, but predominately on a week day. Week days are not ideal for some ladies, who have returned to work. Pink Sisters -Tassie meet the first Sunday of the month.

I am really looking forward to the summit. I know I am going to need assistance with becoming a member of the "Engaging online communities" group, but my friend Fiona tells me you are a kind and gentle organisation who will help me stay afloat! I'm 67 yrs old and still learning new stuff every day! And every day is a bonus, I'm still here after being diagnosed with stage 3 BC 9 years ago! The photo is me on L with my dear friend Denise who we just lost to the dreaded C. She is my inspiration to keep fighting!

HI Everyone
I'm from Adelaide and looking forward to meeting you all at the Summit.
I'm 8 years on from diagnosis (gee that's flown by) and in terms of treatment, mastectomy, chemo, Herceptin, radiotherapy, Arimadex for 7 years and just been put on Tamoxifen for another 3 years due to my high node involvement. Not thrilled but hey - will do what it takes.
Also had free tram flap recon done in 2011 with follow up lift and reduction in other breast, with nipple construction and tattoo. One of the hardest things I've done but so pleased I did. I really struggled with the uni-boob thing.
See you in Melbourne!

Good afternoon ladies my name is Lyn and I'm from Melbourne.
Last year I went for a routine mammogram and recieved the news That I had BC this started the trip I have been on for the last 12/18 months. I had extensive dcis and 2 surgeries later was advised to have a mastectomy as they couldn't get clear margins. I had chemo and 12 months of herceptin, then had mastectomy with immediate reconsruction and then a lift and new nipple. This Saturday I will be having a tatto on my new nipple.
Iam looking forward to the summit this is all new to me and I have found this site a great help connecting with others that are going through the same.

Hi Ang, I am glad to see you made it, although sounds like it was a little hard to find your way around. I will be facilitating the workshops over the two days and would be happy to give you a few tips when we meet. Maybe on day 1 after the second Workshop - just remind me as I might be slightly pre-occupied :-) Looking forward to meeting you. On a side note, there is a group in Tassie, which is slightly quiet - maybe jump in there and check it out before we meet -- https://www.bcna.org.au/online-network/groups/online-support-for-tasmania
