Don't understand this network

Hi all, I'm trying to use this network but find the  mobile version limiting and frustrating. I'm sure there are loads of interesting, informative and supportive comments and stories in here somewhere but besides what seems to be the latest posts and responses my searches come up zero. Have entered 'tamoxifen' and 'femara' in the search to try and find people who might be talking about these drugs as I need to decide which one to start taking - and no results. I tried to join the reconstruction group but got an error screen and then I think I saw that my application was pending but I can't seem to find that screen again. I have tried the site a few times but am close to giving up. This is really disappointing. Did anyone else's have these issues to start with? How do you find people talking about what you want to talk about?

Hi Chrissyv, I'm one of the volunteer facilitators of the Breast Reconstruction group and I've just seen your message requesting membership so have sent you a private message about joining up, which hopefully will be in your inbox now :-)

Also, I'm not sure why you aren't getting any blogs come up when you type in "Tamoxifen"or Femara" in the search box as these do come up for me, but may be one of the other ladies can help with this issue? In the meantime, you could try looking up Side Effects in the Topic List as there are some drug related blogs in that listing. Personally, I'm not sure why there isn't a specific topic listing for hormone / drug treatments as that might make some of the content easier to find - possibly another thing for the BCNA online team to look at with this new site? Obviously they do have info about hormone treatments on the website itself under Treatment, but I totally understand that hearing other people's stories / experiences with these treatments is what makes this site so useful and why most of us are here! Hopefully this has helped. Best wishes, Jane xx

    Hi Chrissy,

welcome!  I've just started taking Femara on the 28th of last month.  So far I haven't had any side effects.  I was told to take that as I'm also having Zokadex injections to shut down my ovaries.  I think tamoxifen is for pre-menopausal people.

good luck and hope this helps!

    Hi Chrissy

I am having the same problem , I have been on this network for a while and had no trouble in the past finding and reading other members experiences.

But since what seems to be an upgrade or a new software system to this network I am unable to get the information I want , I also am finding it very slow.

I feel for you as when I was first diagnosed ,I found this site very comforting and was always able to get the answers I needed from other members experiences.

I am taking Tamoxifen and have been on it for over 2 years, I am not having too many side effects from it.

    Good Luck
