Seat belt covers

I've just got home from a double mastectomy and have found being In the car difficult as the seatbelt presses on my incisions.  I've seen various seatbelt items, but they all seem to be in the US and just wondered if there was anything in Australia?  Places like super cheap auto sell seat belt covers but they seem smaller than the pads I've seen.  I've also seen the pillow pets for children, but just wonder if they're too big, especially once I start driving.  Thanks for any advice. Cheers Karen

    Hi Karen

Didn't your Breast Care Nurse provide you with the curved pillows ?  If not, call her and see what she can do for you.

The Zonta pillows are the best as they can be tied or pinned and, being satin, they slide a bit so that is more comfortable.  Google 'Zonta International' and find the group nearest you - they may make them in your area.

Also, your hospital may have a stock of them as they are given to ladies undergoing breast surgery.

Have you had clearance from your specialist to drive ?  If not, you are not allowed to by law as they say you are not in full control of the vehicle and if you have an accident your insurance will not cover you.

Good luck.  Let us know how you get on re the pillows.

    Summer  :-)

Interesting. My Zonta pillow isn't satin, it's printed cotton.  I guess they're all different
