Has anyone managed to get life insurance after cancer diagnosis? What companies offer this and how long after diagnosis do you have to wait?

    Hi,

I think Virgin do it  and also you can check with your superannuation scheme about buying cover.  Some do it.

Let us know what you find out.

Hi, it's Lisa from the Policy Team. I just wanted to let you know about a great fact sheet that the Cancer Council NSW has developed called 'New insurance policies'. The fact sheet talks about a range of issues related to insurance, including applying for insurance after a diagnosis of cancer.

Here is a link to the fact sheet: http://www.cancercouncil.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/New-insurance-policies.pdf

    Cheers,
    Lisa

thanks for the reply. It looks like virgin does cover me but excludes breast cancer from the policy for 5 years and the cover is less than what a normal person would be. I guess thats better than nothing. So wish I had done this before I was diagnosed..
