Hi Everyone. I have had a bilateral mastectomy last July, opted for no reconstruction, therefore wear a prothesis. My hubby and I are going to Hawaii in March and then off to Europe in July. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with airport security whilst wearing a prothesis. I have heard that American security is pretty thorough. Not sure whether to wear it or put it into my carry-on. I don't want any embarrassing moments at the airport! Any information greatly appreciated.
Best wishes to you all ALWAYS. Chris.x

I have travelled to Fiji with both implant & external prosthesis & haven't had a worry. Last year much to the amusement of my fellow travel party I was even subjected to the new full body scan thing.....the one that you stand in with arms out. The only thing they then *patted down* was my thighs !!!!! ........I gather they were a little larger than they thought they should be !!!!  My girlfriends by this point were almost rolling on the floor uncontrollably !

Sorry Chris I think I was a bit ambiguous click the heading New diagnosis, then in the left hand column under Treatments click on Breast prostheses then scroll down to Overseas travel, hope that is helpful.
