Two Year Survival

Today I celebrated my TWO YEAR SURVIVAL. At dinner a friend asked me to sum up in a nutshell what I had learnt in the past two years, well that's pretty hard to do as a nutshell is far too small.

What I will say is that I am not thankful for having been through BC but I am grateful for how the BC journey has reshaped my life and me as a person.

I have enjoyed having the time to slow down and reassess life and my priorities. I have loved spending more time with my family and have appreciated their love and support. I am appreciative of my friends and am grateful for their encouragement, support and understanding. I have enjoyed having the time to appreciate life. I have developed a love of sunrises and love taking the time to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Over the past two years I have met some wonderful people and made some lovely new friendships.

Today I am extremely thankful for the skilled medical practitioners whom I have been under, the love and support of my family and friends and the inner peace within me.

You have expressed that wonderfully:) I understand when you say you are not thankful but grateful. I am a much stronger person now and I'm grateful as well. Congrats on your 2 years, all the best,

Yes this is one of those life-changing experiences and while none of us would wish having cancer for ourselves or anyone else, I agree that there are lots of things to be grateful for. Hope you continue to enjoy life. Deanne xxx
