New Study for Stage 4
I was really heartened to read about this study in the metastatic area of breast cancer. "Stage Four Needs More" is a phrase I've heard a lot and I know several members here have voiced concerns about the number of studies being done. Hope it's of interest. Hey @BCNA, I've got a friend having AC who lives alone. Coles have cancelled her online deliveries saying they're reserving them for the vulnerable and at risk members of the community. But her immune system is very compromised. She's exactly a person who should not be exposed to the risk of Covid19. How does she get through to Coles or Woolies that she should be on the list? Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! K xox @Giovanna_BCNA @Riki_BCNA @Rosie_BCNA @Kirsten_BCNA712Views2likes20CommentsConfused about eating and drinking

Just wondering if anyone has Type 2 Diabetes and on Diamformin/Metformin tablets & diet control, rather than insulin? Or a partner who is? My husband is a Type 2 Diabetic & his levels are a tad high just now. I'll be getting him to the Dr for further tests in the next day or so - but am just wondering what your diet is & exercise regime? Feel free to PM me if you'd like. His Diabetes is almost certainly as a result of his stomach cancer surgery & chemo 10 years ago - he was diagnosed as Diabetic about 3-4 years ago. He only weighs 55kg & is already a life long athlete and still relatively fit, (tho slowing down now with age at 83.) We also have a pretty healthy diet - all of which are mentioned when blood sugar levels go up. grrrr Any info appreciated, thanks xx163Views1like3CommentsDiet changes for tnbc
Evening! I have been doing some research into changes in diet to help keep tnbc at bay, but would love to know what you guys have implemented. I know karma/fate may ultimately have other ideas but I am in a good head space and want to kick this f***** to touch if I can and get a lot healthier. Thanks to taxol and steroids I am also quite a bit overweight and currently partway through rads with Capecitabine to follow, so I know medically I am doing all I can. thanks x211Views1like10CommentsHelp Needed for Easy Lunches
Like many of you, I am trying to eat as well as I can but I often find meals and in particular, lunchtime at work, rather challenging. Unless there are leftovers in the fridge at home (and with 3 teenagers, there's almost never leftovers), I usually end up buying unsatisfying, calorie dense meals from the canteen. It's expensive, leaden and not particularly nutritious. I think I would like to be able to have a bowl of vegies or something like that that I could stick in the microwave. But I'm looking for some easy sauce recipes to add to them that I could make at home - enough to keep in the fridge for a few days and use as needed. I'm trying to keep it healthy but happy to add more dairy to my diet. I love things like potato/vegetable bakes so things along those lines would be great or other ideas to add a zing. And they'd need to be suitable for microwave reheating. I'm hoping that some of you great cooks out there can share an easy recipe or two.321Views1like11CommentsFeedback on the Kickstart Meal Replacement Program
Following surgery to clean out an arthritic knee my health fund sent me some forms for a weight loss program run by Healthy Weight for Life. My doctor approved it so I followed through. A big box of food sachets and an even bigger manual arrived - much of which was given over to constipation which is a side-effect of the program. Lots of suggestions like using Dulcolax !!!! I am thinking this is not a healthy alternative and the box is still sitting there, gathering dust. So, before I throw it out, has anyone used this program and what is your feedback ? I am 70+ kgs and only need to lose 5-6 kgs to look good. Obviously weight-bearing exercise is not recommended. PLEASE, I do not want other weight loss advice so only those having used the program please respond. Thank you Anne181Views1like6CommentsImmunity Boosters
@Flaneuse @viking1 @arpie I thought this topic deserved its own thread! A discussion on another thread has got me thinking about my immune system as well as the characters above. I've been concentrating on my gut as research is increasingly showing that gut health rules the health of so many other areas of the body, including the brain. And boy does my brain need help after the last few years! I might add some immunity boosters into the mix to bolster my post-chemo system as we start winter. Probably all the drugs I had with the BMX & recon haven't helped either. I eat really healthily, but what would you warrior womyn suggest?! What has worked for you?643Views1like35Comments
