Feeling lost
I am newly diagnosed and just feel lost. My appointments and tests have been so close to each other. I have had mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy of the breast, FNA of my lymph node, a pet scan and having a mri tomorrow. My diagnosis is invasive carcinoma NST (invasive ductal carcinoma), grade 3, triple-positive (ER+/PR+/HER2+), with associated high-grade DCIS. The ki-67 is 60%. I have been told the I will have 4 months of Chemo, then surgery, radiation and long term medication after. I met with the breastcare nurse and found her extremely unhelpful. I just don’t know what to expect and how to feel at the moment. Has anyone been on a similar journey who can tell me what to expect?105Views0likes3CommentsMaitland Public or Private Hospitals?
Has anyone here had treatment in Maitland Private or Maitland Public Hospitals? Financial constraints are pushing me towards the Public System but we do have Private Health Insurance so could go Private but the out of pocket expenses are huge or unknown.69Views0likes7CommentsPalbociclib-anti cancer drug effects
Hi Ladies Just wondering if anyone is on both Letrozole and Palbociclib, I am about to start the Palbo and hope I can tolerate it so I can go back to work. I am 61 and have stage 2 inoperable cancer at the moment and the oncologist wants to try and shrink it over the next 6 months. I am worried about the nausea and fatiique and as I work in primary schools walking and talking a lot, feel stressed just thinking about it, but really need the income to fund all these private treatments and meds.48Views0likes1CommentInoperable
Hi all, I am newley diagnosed with stage 2 invasive HER2 negative ERPR positive and inoperable at the moment(that word really freaked me out) I am currently on hormone suppressant tablets to try and reduce the tumours and see the Oncologist next week. I feel very anxious all the time as I thought when I first heard I had it, a masectomy would be first up but it feels like my treatment is all in reverse and I don’t feel positive about it at all. Has anyone had experience with this before.166Views0likes4CommentsVery difficult to listen the Podcast
Hi all, so I started listening to Charlotte's podcast. I just started the Episode 2. While this podcast is fantastic, I find it extremely hard to listen and my emotions just overcome me. I would love to know how is everyone going and what do you do to stay calm and not be a slobbering and emotional mess like me. 😔 Thank you everyone 💓164Views3likes11CommentsSo it turns out waiting is not for me….
Hi everyone- my name is Jenni and I was diagnosed last Tuesday 28/07/26 with invasive ductal carcinoma and DCIS. I was told a surgeon would be in touch within the week after getting a referral the same day. I have since requested my GPs reception to forward the referral twice - and was met with such hostility I will change doctors. We found out today that the referral was still not sent and hadn't got to where it needed to go. So my husband did a round trip (over an hour as we live in rural Vic) and went and got a hard copy from my GP and took it to the cancer care clinic as instructed via phone- to be told they did not need it yet and he nicely insisted she take a copy and give it to my BC nurse - I am so overwhelmed- how quickly should surgery be happening? I’m sorry to vent but its been a lot ❤️🌸263Views1like9CommentsFear of the unknown
I have recently been diagnosed last week l had a lumpectomy and nodes removed for further examination and, now l am anxious fearful about the follow up appointment this week. I really would like to become an ostrich put my head in the sand as l am not looking forward to their findings.169Views2likes6Commentsa difficult day
Today was my PET scan & also a CT scan. Awful. but I did it. I’m just still struggling with the enormity of it all. It’s surreal. I feel like I’m in a bad dream. And on the scan table I was wondering how the hell I got here. I’m scared. I cry lots. I know I’ve posted this before 🫶🏻 it’s good to be able to get it out! Thanks for listening 🌸156Views3likes6Comments
