Hi There. I had bc 8yrs ago and last year found mets on spine and hips. I've had progression twice on my liver and have only just started my 3rd line of treatment (IV chemo Eribulin) to try and stablise it. Good luck with your Onco appointment on Wednesday and I hope they can give you a treatment plan that will kick its ass. Hugs to ya. I have written a little speel to join, but when I pressed ok to submit, nothing happened.... It has been a while since I have been on the website. First diagnosed in 2011 and the sucker came back last year. Grrrr So am a little rusty and which groups I am in and not it.Re: Tamoxofin
Hi Ladies, I am nearly at the end of my first pack of Tamoxifen. I started taking them at dinner, but found headaches and hot flushes/night sweats got worse over night, so I changed to the mornings and it is heaps better. I only wake up about 3 times during the night now, woohoo!!! :o) I am 39 and am also worried that I am menopausal as Hubby and I haven't yet been able to start our family. Althouh, we do have 1 embryo on ice..... Better than nothing! The Docs just fob me off and tell me that they can't tell until I come off the Tamox and do some testing. The usual line, everyone is different. The only good thing to come of this Tamox, still no period, Woohoo!! (None since 2nd lot of chemo in Nov.) But, I am dreading the first one I get after all this is over, she is going to be a doozy! hahhaaaa All the best to you all and keep smiling. Rach xx3Views0likes0CommentsRe: Radiation burns
I hope you are getting some relief from your burns after Rads and you were able to call your Radiation Nurses to help you out. Even though your treatment has finished they should be still available to you for help. I had a bad time with my collarbone after No.5 (30 in total) and the nurses put solugel on and dressed each day. As soon as they stopped zapping that area I could put zinc& castor oil cream on it. Within a week the wound healed and my skin had grown back. I put it on a thin layer twice a day and put a dressing on to keep it moist. When I showered I didn't wash/scrub the area, just splashed some water on it and patted dry. It will go all mankie under the dressing, but that is good. To get it off the skin (to start the process again) use olive oil on soft cloth and gently run over wound. Maybe check with your nurses first and don't use it if you are alergic to zinc sunscreen. Hi Lovelies. Just thought I'd check in, had my first round of Docetaxel yesterday, a bit scarey of the unknown all over again. But, got through it ok, just a low blood pressure propblem in the first 15mins, but no reactions, Yay!!!! Last night was spent mainly awake from hot/cold flushes, but no nausia/vomiting which was fantastic as I had a problem with this on Fec. I look forward to finishing this lot of treatment and moving onto Radiation in Feb. It has been a horrid year for all of us, but hopefully 2012 will be a lot kinder to us. Hi Lovely Ladies, I hope everyone is doing aok. It has been quite a few weeks since last blog, but have finally made it half way through chemo, Yay!!!! I have been feeling quite good considering, with the exception of the odd teary/fragile days. But they are just a blip in the road. :o) My best mate, Jo had a Girls Night In for me a few weeks ago. It blew way out of control and ended up being a huge gathering of 80+ people at the local pub. Thanks to the generousity of strangers that became friends on the night, we managed to raise a whopping $23 000.00 for the Cancer Council. It helped that both our Hubbys' got work and suppliers involved to donate items to raffle off and a few large TVs and engel fridge was donated for auction. Jo had arranged all this, so she could cut her hair on the night so that I didn't have to go through the hair loss thing alone. She is a wonderful friend and the Big Sister I always wished I had growing up :o) Take care ladies and hope you are all smilling. Rachxx2Views0likes6Comments
