10 years on - Survivor
It’s been such a long time since I’ve been on this chat and tonight I’m wanting to celebrate a milestone for me and give others hope- chemotherapy is definitely a great part of why I’m still here 10 years down the track from my diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer but it takes away so much too. I was shattered to lose my hair but when I lost my eyebrows and eyelashes I was mortified. Thankfully hair and eyelashes grow back, eyebrows too but not the same. Today I put my trust in an amazing process and an incredible lady and I got my eyebrows tattooed- for me this was a big thing and my final F U Cancer moment!!! So if anyone is feeling the same as I did after recovering from the ravages of chemo and you’re wanting to take back your confidence I highly recommend this!!! For those of you currently undergoing treatment there is hope and life after cancer treatment and I wish everyone all the best. Hi all I haven't been on here for a while but after going through breast cancer in 2013 - 8 rounds of chemo, surgeries & radiation I'm now wondering if I should have had a hysterectomy. I've just found out I have a cyst on my ovary which because of my history the doctor is going to remove my ovary & test the cyst ( looking for cancer I'm guessing ). Just interested to know how many of you have had a hysterectomy after breast cancer & why? Feeling scared & desperate!!26Views0likes5Commentspetrified
It's been a little while since I was on here but I'm just wanting to know if anyone post menopausal after chemo got another period once chemo had ended -1 year later! I'm on arimidex & my hormone levels have been checked so they're still all low - I'm having an ultrasound of my uterus next week & then seeing a gynecologist hopefully just for a clean out of whatever was left behind of my period while I'd had treatment. Has this ever happened to anyone else???17Views0likes4Commentsbody size
Hi all, I haven't been on here for a while but I have a strange question - so after having chemo, mastectomy & radiation which all ended earlier this year, I'm now on arimidex & have gained a little weight but the biggest surprise to me is that my shoe size has gone up also!!! Has this happened to anyone else????feeling down
Hi there i haven't been on here for a while. I had stage 3 breast cancer, have had 8 rounds of chemo, a mastectomy, 5 weeks of radiation & presently on hormonal treatment. Chemo for me ended last Dec, surgery was Jan this year & rads were in march - well you're probably wondering what's my problem now all that hard stuff is over - Don't get me wrong I'm thankful that I'm cancer free but I'm now left with one breast (reconstruction hopefully next March) weight gain, aches & pains & a body that just doesn't look like mine! I handled treatment really well but lately I just feel so down & I don't seem to be enthusiastic about anything at the moment. Has anyone else come out the other side of all this & not felt an amazing zest for life?19Views0likes2Comments
