Surgery in the morning

Well, it's time! It's been 3 and a half weeks since I saw the surgeon - feels like a year ago. Fingers crossed the nodes are clear and the tumour hasn't grown much in a month so that this surgery will remove all cancer. Fingers crossed, everything crossed.

I've filled the fridge for the kids, their nanna is on standby, and the work colleagues too. Last load of laundry on now. I'm just about to lay out my hospital bag and wondered if you ladies had any recommendations for what to take. I've got the obvious...and I've probably overdone it ha ha! Surgeon said 4 days, pre-op nurse on the phone today said overnight - gah!

I don't know if I'll sleep much, but that's ok I guess I'll be sleeping enough the next week.

  • I was only in overnight (not for a mastectomy though) and I don't think I opened my overnight bag at all! I stayed in my hospital gown, it was just easier. But if I was in for longer I would pack something to read and keep your mind occupied. And don't forget your toothbrush and warm socks!! Best of luck and fingers crossed.
