I was only in overnight (not for a mastectomy though) and I don't think I opened my overnight bag at all! I stayed in my hospital gown, it was just easier. But if I was in for longer I would pack something to read and keep your mind occupied. And don't forget your toothbrush and warm socks!! Best of luck and fingers crossed.
