@Jax1964..or you could have said, "If it's so inconsequential, why mention it and cause me more distress?" or "If it's so inconsequential, why do I have to see a gynae and waste his time and my money? Are you trying to drum up business for your gynae pals?". Either way, he's fornicated...

@Jax1964..you should have asked him if he had a 9 cm cyst on one of his nuts, whether he would still have thought of it as "inconsequential"? Dickhead!!

Just to add insult to injury - I had a pelvic scan which revealed a 9cm cyst on my ovary.
When I asked the Doc what that meant she dismissed it as inconsequential saying I'd have to find a gyno.
"So you're telling me that my oestrogen-fed BC has no correlation to the primary organ which produces oestrogen developing a plum-sized cyst.  I'm no doctor but are you *&^%ing kidding me?"  :s
Doc looks at me blankly.

So I had the biopsy yesterday and it was exactly as everyone here described it. It was uncomfortable but not painful (local anaesthetic); they don't squish you as much as a standing mam; took about 25 mins for mine.

Here comes my big whinge: when the young doctor told me a month ago that I had to have a biopsy under mammogram, he gave me no explanation of the procedure whatsoever. I was a bit stunned and didn't know what questions to ask before he handed me over to the admin staff to make the booking.
Enter mild anxiety for a month while awaiting the procedure.
When I turned up yesterday, the rad doctor says "so, you know what's happening then!"
"No" says I, "only what I've read on BCNA".
"Oh", says doc, handing me a brochure with pretty pictures which I didn't have time to read before being rushed down the corridor.
"This would have been really %$#@ing handy a month ago"  :s
Doc looks at me blankly.

They sat me down in a big chair for mine. The bang makes you jump a bit, but they warn you it’s coming. That’s the needle going in, then they will take the sample. Flush the line to collect sample, and put a chip in if required. It’s all numb and they don’t squish you as badly as a normal mammogram. It takes awhile to do it all. Just remember to breath. I felt I might move if I took normal breaths, but you don’t. I had to have about four taken, so it was a very lengthy process and I just sort of drifter off to my own world. There wasn’t any pain.

I had exactly that and the thought of it was much worse than the real thing. They position you just like a normal mammogram then they give you a local anaesthetic so you don't feel anything. There is a bang sound as they take the biopsy but it's fine. They explain what is happening all of the time so you feel informed. Wiggle your toes as a distraction and you'll be fine. Good luck.
