Weird symptom post-chemo

I finished chemo exactly two weeks ago. I've still got a number of the side effects including all the gut issues, aches, and some PN which are mostly easing.  However, a new one started a couple of days ago ...a strange sensation on my face as if a small insect was on me.  It happens in different places on my face - temples, forehead, chin, cheeks... I'm guessing that it's either nerve related or that it's something to do with hair growing back but it is very odd.  Has anyone else experienced this?
  • @Sister I had shocking fluid retention. I’ll try and post a photo of the cankles I had at the end of a work day. I’m a vet nurse and we had human frudix at work which is used to remove fluid. Took a 20mg tablet daily for 2 weeks and it worked wonders - have my ankles back again. Can’t take it longer than that or it reduces your potassium and u have to have blood tests etc but talk to your oncologist about it. Worked so well for me.
  • I think @"Kiwi Angel" has expertise in this area.
  • The other weird thing that's happened since chemo finished is what I think is fluid retention.  First it started with a small dot under each eye (as if my glasses had been resting there) - now it looks as if I've got full-on Louis Vittuon luggage there.  I have notice it a bit in other areas such as sock marks on my legs.  Has anyone else had this and is there any easy solution?
  • I knew about the "ants" with menopause.  This is a really gentle sensation, like a tiny insect or a stray hair that is falling on my face (not much chance of that!).  Very bizarre but nice to know I'm not alone
  • @sister I had that really bad on my legs for ages post chemo - felt like I kept walking through a spiders web and kept trying to brush it off!!
  • OMG yes!!! For several weeks I kept trying to brush what felt like an ant off my face. I also had it on my forearms. I think it was round the time chemo finished. I Googled it as a menopause symptom and look what came up on the Jean Hailes menopause page!

It's a thing. I don't know if it's the thing I had or you've got, but you're not alone. Hair, nerves or menopause? No idea! K xox
  • Hi @Sister. I don't remember experiencing that, but it does sound like hair regrowth, especially if it is in isolated spots.
