Taxol or carbo and hot flushes?

Hi ladies

did anyone have any hot flushes with the taxol or carbo?

also I went for a beach walk after my chemo yesterday and I have some blotchy spots on my legs. I'm guessing from the sun as it was late in the afternoon I didn't bother with sunscreen. Lesson learned! Anyone else get any skin reactions from the sun?

  • I will be having paclitaxel weekly for 12 weeks after I finish my AC. How are you finding this treatment? Are you having many side effects?
  • @ccasper are you having docetaxel or paclitaxel?
  • I was hot and had a flushed face for 2 days after taxol. My skin became weirdly sensitive...a hot shower would cause stinging and  welts as did jewelry.
  • I noticed that even on the AC, my skin goes red quite quickly in the sun. I normally don't burn that easily so I was surprised but I think a lot of chemo drugs cause skin sensitivity. I live on the Sunshine Coast so it's hard to avoid the sun sometimes!
  • Hello,
I am not on Taxol yet but I have some brown stains/dots on my hands since starting chemo... I didn't always put sunscreen on my hands but I have learnt my lesson and make sure I always do!
  • Hey!

I got a skin rash on Taxol but it was on my hand, ,quite nasty and itchy but went away when I finished. Your skin is really sensitive after Chemo, and you definitely have to be careful in the sun as you burn very easily.

I had hot flushes whilst on FEC and then Taxol, but honestly it was due to being thrown into menopause, not the meds. I told my Oncologist at the time and after treatment said he'd prescribe Effexor, I tried it twice and couldnt tolerate it made me so ill. So I didnt worry, hot flushes have settled right down 10 months post chemo.
