Mouth wash

Hey lovelies
I took a hiatus from here to concentrate on my mental health with having my docetaxel today. I cried to the nurses from hear but they were wonderful and it was way better than i thought. Anyway am i supposed to keep mouth washing with this chemo?
Thanks lovelies xxxx

  • It is the drymouth one - I didn't mind the taste - hated salt, though.
  • Thanks @Afraser, good points. Hope my taste buds dont leave me lol

  • Salt water was fine for me - my oncology nurse's advice was to do it twice a day religiously rather than try 4 times a day and fail. It was good advice - no ulcers. Didn't have a dry mouth. Salt water did not save my taste buds though (all went west during Taxol, but came back fast when Taxol finished).
  • Thanks @kmakm. I dont have a counselor but i do intend to talk to a professional. I do have my besty who is a psych, great to talk to but want.someone i dont know. How are you xxx
  • @Trikki2 I did a salt water rinse three times a day through the first two weeks of the three week cycle of TC. My mouth tried to get an ulcer once, in the fourth round when I was massively run down. But it backed off very quickly as I kept doing the rinse.

I bawled for an hour at my first chemo, 20 minutes at my second, 5 minutes at my third and was dry eyed at my fourth! I had a counsellor I saw during chemo which was a big help. Have you got a professional to talk to? Big hug, K xox
  • @Trikki2 I used biotene twice a day too - couldn’t stand the taste of it and threw the bottle out after chemo as the thought of it made me gag. It did work though. Xoxo
  • Ok thanks xx @sister is it the dry mouth one you purchase??
