I thought I'd gotten over the hand/wrist pain!

Damn!! I can't believe it!

My right hand & wrist suddenly went back to massive ache & pain late last night (just like when I was initially on Letrozole just under 4 years ago ...) along with trigger finger on my ring finger & middle finger - has come back again too! grrr

I can't believe it - it has been fine for the last 2 years! I really thought I was 'over' that bit!! grrr

Back then, it was excruciating - as it is now.  Just the one hand/wrist .... so far!

It is very 'stiff' and difficult to form a fist and has absolutely no strength and just continual ache/pain.

It started about 11.30pm last night, so I took some Panadol osteo and rubbed Voltaren gel on it & wrapped it in a bandage to support the wrist - which at least helped me get some sleep ... but it is very painful again this morning. :(

Medicinal cannabis oil over 2 years helped the last time ..... and occasional prednisone ... might be time to break that out again!

NOT HAPPY, JAN!   :(

  • Trigger Fingers/thumb are so weird, aren't they @Afraser? Some can be quite painful, as you have to physically straighten the finger with the other hand when it locks ....

I'm glad yours stopped as suddenly as it started.

Gosh, you've had a lucky run with Letrozole!!  I reckon you should be on some sort of study, to see why YOU don't have any/many side effects, vs so many of us that get shockers!  ;)
  • I have no idea why, or even how, but after nearly nine years on Letrozole (no aches or joint pains), I got a trigger thumb. Three months later it’s entirely resolved itself without me doing anything. Good but strange.
  • I don't think I've overused the hand/wrist @iserbrown - definitely haven't injured it in any way either, so it is very confusing why it has started again!

I don't think there is anything they can do about the trigger finger, @Locksley  .... it is a weird beast.  I'll definitely have to dig out my thumb splint again ... and that should help.

Hopefully it will stop as suddenly as it started!  grr
  • Sorry to hear this @arpie.    It would be nice if we could have no side effects at all.   Is there anything that can stop a trigger finger at all.   Would wearing a splint bandage (like if you have carpal tunnel) help?
  • Ouch!  Have you overused the hand/wrist lately?
I had trigger finger on Letrozole but not the painful wrist
    Take care
