I am So sorry to hear of your diagnosis, @SunnyB - we have some wonderful members in Canberra who may jump on - if you add your town to your 'profile' it will show on your post. Canberra has some quite innovative things going on re BC - including a Fly FIshing weekend (if you are into fishing or want to try something new if you are up to it - they supply all the gear & teach you how to use it!)
BCNA has a Young Woman's group and Mets group that are 'closed' (posts are not made public) so anything can be discussed openly. I'll ask @Giovanna_BCNA to arrange in invite to both groups.
Yes, a sad fact is that some family & buddies almost think it may be catchy - so stay away - or they are afraid of saying the wrong thing, so just say nothing, which really hurts.
Good on you for continuing your work - it keeps your body & mind active.
I am sure that Canteen would have a branch in Canberra - to help your kids thru - with weekends away & activities - altho reading it - surprised it is only for older kids 12-25. They may know of other groups that may help your kids xx

Bosom Buddies has a few gatherings - not sure if they'd be MBC - but I am sure they'd let you know who to contact

ACT Cancer has quite a few options - including a kids helpline

If you want a laugh - we have a couple of 'funny threads'

Take care - sending some cyber hugs to you now xxx
