I've Had A Week
In the last seven days:
- I had a Covid19 test - negative
- I finally got the guts up to raise body image and sex with a doctor during a telehealth consult with a doctor at a menopause after cancer clinic. Not a single doctor has ever raised this subect with me.
- I had a check up with my breast surgeon. Back again in six months instead of 12 because the right foob is lumpy.
- My son came to me in a panic about finding a lump on his testicles, I took him to the doctor, and then back again for the ultrasound results. A cyst, thankfully not a tumour. When I was telling him to calm down he said "I know Mum but it's US".
- My youngest got her first period.
And all this during Stage 4 Lockdown.
I am exhausted. I feel like I'm always on high alert. Stop the world, I want to get off...

- kezmuscMemberBloody hell @kmakm. I just caught up with your posts. You guys don't do anything by halves do you???? Thankfully all is well in the end. Isn't it awful that the more you know the more you wish you didn't. I think you are doing the right thing not telling them about the genes at this point. Why let them spend any more of their young lives worrying about something that may never happen. There vigiliant enough to pick up on any changes as they've already proven.
The wonder woman title really must go to you lovely. You must just feel like magically disappearing for a while to fairy land with a huge bottle of wine.
I have a wand.....oh and wine.

- ZoffielMemberSome bastarding parrot are my broccoli. Not all of it, just chewed it off at ground level and ate 40mm of the stem. My idiot dog slept through it all, apparently. She has no interest in fresh greens, but it's an entirely different story if the magpies sit on the clothesline waiting for cheese.
Not in anyway to be compared to lumpy nuts or other body parts, but it was a what the fuck moment. - Caz1Member@kmakm Yikes is that stuff ever going to fit back in!?LOL
Mind you I tidied my jumper drawer yesterday whilst procrastinating doing something else which I have now forgotten what it was... :D #PROUD # FORGETFUL # IDIOT
I was on letrozole for 6 months but have now stopped cos am on oral chemo. It really messed with my joints especially my dodgy knees. Iām feeling gloomy about them as I hobble around. My son was asking me if Iām ever getting better. Must be hard to watch your mum fall to bits :'(
YES we will meet irl! Something to look forward to after all of this virus craziness......
A million hugs

- kmakmMember@FLClover Pampering would be fabulous. Does it count if you do it yourself?!
Yeah I was impressed he found and immediately reported a lump. I've delivered the message so often, it's good to know it's sunk in!
Thank you @JanineG. I don't know about amazing. You just have to put one foot in front of another but I can tell you my stress levels have been higher than they have been for a long time.
It does get too hard sometimes @Sister. I feel that regularly. But I'm too sensible and responsible to do anything permanent. We just have to keep plugging away. I don't hope for anything better anymore. Maybe just quieter and calmer one day.
@arpie No mammograms on foobs, no breast tissue. Ultrasounds only if warranted.
@ddon I can tell you my heart straight out broke when my then 11yo niece (who I'm raising) came to me thinking she had breast cancer because she could feel lumps in her chest. They were her breast buds. When I was 11 only one person in my life had died, one of my grandfathers when I was four. I hate that my children's lives are full of cancer and death. I haven't told them they may have a genetic mutation, that their grandfather has metastatic prostate cancer. I just can't. It's unbearable.
@Afraser Yes, trips to the supermarket are the extent of all Melbournian's outings these days. Sometimes I just sit in my car just for something different. I'm glad your family are all well, but terribly sorry that your colleague has died. My condolences. Just so terribly sad.
Yes @iserbrown, the shitshow just keeps rolling along. Thank you for the virtual hug. I hope you're staying safe and warm this chilly weekend.
@Leia The highlight of my weekend so far:
Cleared out a kitchen cupboard today. At least I achieved something productive!
@Caz1 Might have a bath tomorrow. I am in SO much Letrozole pain at the moment it is insane... Will we ever meet irl?!
2020, another year down the drain...
Stay well everyone. K xox - Caz1MemberHi @kmakm
HECK. That sounds EXHAUSTING you poor love. :(
Itās such a shitty in time in Melbourne at the moment which doesnāt help. Hard to keep your head up even without all thatās happening.
My kids are super sensitive too, and my daughter is so scared of covid she doesnāt come out of her room much ( she has type 1 diabetes too )
Good on your son for not ignoring his lumps. Heās learnt some good life skills already.
And on the bright side, at least your surgeon is being proactive. My remaining boob is a bit lumpy too but Iām still having 6 monthly checks.
I was thinking to myself today that a bright side of BC at the moment is that I have an excuse to leave my house to go to my various appointments. I drive slowly so I can look out window at the big wide world out there! What have I become? :s
Take care of yourself and I hope you can find a corner of the house to recharge in this weekend.
(Maybe the bath)
big love
