Tamoxifen and endometrial hyperplasia

I don't know the answer re surgical removal vs Zoladex in postmenopausal/post-child-bearing years. It's a question I regret I did not ask the gynecologist who is doing my hysteroscopy. I will ask at the next opportunity. I hope iserbrown was able to help.

Just asking as this is one of my treatment options being discussed at the moment, will definitely be checking this with my specialist, I’m post menopausal and have uterine polyps.

Has anyone been prescribe Tamoxifen who have already been diagnosed with uterine polyps?

I hope I don't have to have more hysteroscopies. One under general anaesthetic seems quite enough to me. @iserbrown, was a hysterectomy and or oophorectomy ever discussed? Am I naive to think it would be better than monitoring and scanxiety?

Thanks for your replies. I haven’t had any strange vaginal discharge or any bleeding as yet. Good to know what to watch for. 

I've had two hysteroscopy and 2 years of Zoladex injections to shrink the ovaries. 

I had non-stop thin watery bloody discharge while on Tamoxifen. I'm now on the public patient waiting list for hysteroscopy and biopsies under general anaesthetic. Just wondering about the whole thing, and how worried I should be, or not. Oncologist has me on Zoladex and Letrozole, which also have their fun side effects.

For me, a bleed!
My GP sent me for a vaginal ultrasound and from there my Medical Oncologist referred me to a Gynaecology Oncologist - and so it is I have regular visits and vaginal ultrasounds.  Now under control but still review and monitoring!

Just a question - how do you know there’s a problem? Are you having bleeding or is it picked up on scans? I am 5 months into tamoxifen and am just wondering what to look out for?

I developed super heavy periods with Tamoxifen and am awaiting biopsy results after hysteroscopy etc.
