Barney74 I've been taking Exemestane for eight years and have had the same painful foot symptoms for five years, for the last 18mths the pain (soles of my feet) has been chronic. Tried all manner of drugs and 'alternative' treatments but nothing has made any difference. I now use a walker and I'm trying to adjust to the limits of chronic pain. My oncologist at FSH made an appt with the Pain Dr a few months ago who suggested I attend the two day introduction to Pain Management. It was very informative. They key points I have taken away - the pain is the pathology (not tissue damage from an old injury), this is not in your head its your survival brain responding to the 'danger' of the drug. They talked about all the drugs that might control the pain but basically that was not good news for me - nothing has worked and I rely on Panadol and Voltaren when I know I have to walk a bit. To be brief, the pain is real and its not in your head, mild and gentle exercise is good, pace yourself and never try to push through. Agree that cancer suxs!
ps I retired 18mths ago, a kind of blessing as I'm not sure if I could have continued work.
