After a break, Letrozole, continued...
Drug holiday over, today I started taking Letrozole again. At night this time. Don't know that it will make any difference but worth a try.
If/when (she said optimistically) the side effects return, I'll start my curcumin trial.
It's been really really good to be pain (and dandruff) free for a few weeks. I feel it's given me a boost, and more strength to continue.
If the side effects don't settle down my oncologist was quite keen to put me onto Tamoxifen. From what I've read here I'm not so sure. Better the devil you know...?

- AfraserMemberI did a lot of diet changes before bc - low fat milk, yoghurt; vegetarian in the household encouraged meat free meals; lots of fish; olive
oli margerine. After discussion with both my surgeon and cardiologist on an overseas study about dairy fat, and their considered views on potential triggers and cumulative effects, I reduced my cheese intake and cut out triple cream Brie! The latter is much more delicious than a lump of lard but probably has about the same nutritional value. Do I miss it? A bit, but not enough to resume consumption. I don't know if this has anything to do with not having aches or hot flushes on AIs (it hasn't done a thing for vaginal atrophy!) - quite possibly nothing at all.Sign in to react to this post - Patti_JMemberInteresting article @iserbrown , however, it was published in 2010, with no apparent revisions. Another much more recent article seems to give a much less one sided view. It was also just recently updated. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com. ;Sign in to react to this post

- kmakmMemberThat's excellent @iserbrown. I get mine checked regularly. It's up a little bit but my good cholesterol is so high the GP said not to worry. I have moderated my diet since starting Letrozole. Margerine instead of butter, red meat & cheese very seldom, low fat dairy. So much you have to give up, so much you have to do, so much you have to manage when you're on this drug.Sign in to react to this post
- iserbrownMemberLetrozole (Femara) side effects - some without understanding why! For me it was cholesterol level.
I have full blood tests on a regular basis, for obvious reasons and my cholesterol level prior to taking Femara was acceptable the next test shown it had risen. Now that I have been off Femara for 3 months this test has shown my cholesterol level is back in the normal range - go figure! My diet hasn't changed but my AI has!
For those on it, take note of what it is, if your diet and exercise regime has changed and have it checked
Pleased to see it's back in the normal range

Besides, not sure it is a debate! I think this sits in the 'we all react differently' zone and of course, some people are more hormone sensitive than others.
Your screenshot, combined with something my psych told me last week, brought in focus and joined some dots on something I've been turning over in my mind for the last few months. A smidgen of clarity! K xoxSign in to react to this post - AfraserMemberA fig lover! Come and strip my trees!!Sign in to react to this post
