After a break, Letrozole, continued...
Drug holiday over, today I started taking Letrozole again. At night this time. Don't know that it will make any difference but worth a try.
If/when (she said optimistically) the side effects return, I'll start my curcumin trial.
It's been really really good to be pain (and dandruff) free for a few weeks. I feel it's given me a boost, and more strength to continue.
If the side effects don't settle down my oncologist was quite keen to put me onto Tamoxifen. From what I've read here I'm not so sure. Better the devil you know...?

- kitkatbMemberHi everyone. Just a question. Has any one had a steroid injection in the thumb to ease trigger thumb and how did it go or are we even allowed to have it done medication wise. This femara keeps giving. Have a great day everyone. xo
- kmakmMemberBit of a breakthrough on the acupuncture front today. I woke with all over aches and pains. My left big toe made me yelp with pain even before I got out of bed. Seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why somes days are worse than others.
I conveyed the general punching bag condition to the acupuncturist (my third session), and commenced placing the needles (now using the "baby needles" as my system is "sensitive"). He enquired as to exactly where my thumb pain was (the base, in the thumb pad area) and inserted the needles in my feet. Within 30 seconds the pain had stopped and it has not yet returned. It's very strange to flex my hands and feel the pain in my joints, but not in the base of my thumb, where it's always been the worst.
Interestingly, he says I am very unusual because I am a "same side person". Areas are usually treated from the opposite side, right foot for left hand etc. I'm right for right, left for left. The things you learn eh?
Though I do wish I could be special for better reasons, like an amazing singing voice, or my ability to eat as much as I like without gaining weight, or the knack of picking the winning numbers in Tattslotto... - kmakmMemberMy thought exactly @iserbrown. Definitely taking panadol next time.

Not nice!
Perhaps, if you haven't already, take panadol prior to your next visit.
Did they suggest anything prior?
Hope your next visit is more bearable
Take care - arpieMemberBugger! I am SO Sorry to hear that @kitkatb - I hope you are feeling better now & it hasn't happened again.
Definitely contact your Doc or Breastcare nurse so it is 'on file' ... my mantra is: If In Doubt, Get Checked Out! If it happens at night - call 000. I've had it happen to me once - but I was already in hospital at the time & they did the Code Blue trick & suddenly there were 10 people around my bed, shoving adrenaline into me & lifting the bottom of the bed up to get my legs higher than my head!!
What is a "colour Doctor Wrist blood pressure Monitor'', @brenda?? I've never heard of it! - kmakmMemberHmmm... I have no idea!
- kezmuscMemberMaybe that's why mine didn't work LOL. No pain no gain right?
- kmakmMember@kezmusc This guy comes highly recommended, has been practicing since 1994 and is conveniently local! His assistant says the pain gets less as inflammation subsides. We'll see. :|
- kezmuscMemberA different accupuncturist maybe????? @kmakm
- kmakmMemberThank you @Sister. Fingers crossed! K xox
