After a break, Letrozole, continued...
Drug holiday over, today I started taking Letrozole again. At night this time. Don't know that it will make any difference but worth a try.
If/when (she said optimistically) the side effects return, I'll start my curcumin trial.
It's been really really good to be pain (and dandruff) free for a few weeks. I feel it's given me a boost, and more strength to continue.
If the side effects don't settle down my oncologist was quite keen to put me onto Tamoxifen. From what I've read here I'm not so sure. Better the devil you know...?

- Kiwi_AngelMember@kezmusc I’m feeling sick today - maybe a dose of drugs is what I need :D. I think mine are definitely slowly getting better - I don’t really have too many during the day mainly the stupid night ones - why at night!!!!!????
- kezmuscMemberMorning all,
Just trying to catch up with a few threads. I haven't read all of it so may be repeating things that have already been said.
Re the tamoxifen and flushes @"Kiwi Angel" @kmakm @JJ70 my last break from it appears to have almost knocked out the flushes. Only 5 or 6 a day now and very minor (under a minute) compared to what they were. They have gotten better each time so there is hope that they don't stay the distance of the HT.
Interesting side note. I got a cold which turned into a chest infection and needed antibiotices. No flushes at all for the 5 days on the drugs which I thought was odd but excellent. Weird huh?
xoxox - iserbrownMemberOh maybe spin it into "is Anastrozole
Is one to research and ask about at next visit."
Luckily you picked up on the boo boo! Sometimes too much of a hurry. - kmakmMember@Sister Exactly!
@Flaneuse @arpie @"Kiwi Angel" Yes!
@AllyJay My pharmacy changed hands recently. I've been going there for 19 years and am loathe to change. But it's potentially so dangerous as you say... I'll give them one more chance. - AllyJayMemberOnce I took scripts for both my husband and I into one of the local chemists. After arriving home, I found that one of his heart medications had my label on, with the instructions regarding dosage. Another box had my sticker on along with the dosage. (Mine was the Letrozole, labelled for him. Imagine if we were two old farts...(well we are two old farts actually), who both were not quite as sharp as we should have been... Needless, after fixing up the stuff up, I changed pharmacies.
- SisterMemberYou could easily have thought, different brand, different colour.
- FlaneuseMember@kmakm Faaark! That's BAD.
- arpieMemberOMG! That's not good @kmakm .... understandable if it was the ''other version'' - not a totally different med tho!! Not good at ALL
- Kiwi_AngelMemberOh dear!!
- kmakmMemberOops! Went to the pharmacy to collect the next month's life saving/sucking box of Letrozole. Got home. Opened box to put one tray in my pill box (a vintage Indian tin - it's the small pleasures) and saw that they were white instead of brown. That's odd I thought. Checked box. Anastrozole! Back to the pharmacy I went. The chemist was so embarrassed he blushed. And he wasn't even the one who dispensed them! Said he was going to leave a note for the one who did...
