Newstart Centerlink MD's?

Somehow Centerlink are now medical doctors as they will not accept a second three month doctors certificate to say I cannot work and they say I am to be booked in to see a disability job provider even though they refuse to pay me a disability pension. I left in tears.
  • I don't know which office you are using @Brenda5 but that is absolute rubbish. I've just put in my third certificate, I didn't even have to wait to see someone, the door bitch, who is a snarky cow, just took it and submitted it for me.
I am working a couple of days a week and the certificates reflect I am OK for light duties. My GP, bless her, has said I'm not fit for onsite work but that I can work from home so I can rest when I need to.
I haven't heard one peep from them. Maybe because I am working I'm not technically unemployed so I dont screw up their stats.
I wish I could come in and help you. Go to another office if you can and make an appointment to see someone who knows their stuff. It will be worth travelling to get away from your current location which is apparently populated by incompetent idiots.
This shit should not happen. Margxxx
  • Dear @Brenda5 , I submitted my fourth Centrelink medical certificate on 12th December and it has been accepted. It is only till 15th Feb when I do hope to be fit to return to work. I think that suggestion to see a Centrelink social worker is a good one. Have you had a letter from Centrelink, or is it just verbal from one officer at this stage? I hope you get this sorted - it doesn't seem right. Best wishes from jennyss
ps can you see my new profile picture is a rumple bear??
  • Good old Centrelink. Ask to see a social worker I hate that they have to follow the rules to a T  .  The rule is that while you being treated you can’t get a disability pension but as for the 2nd drs certificate I’ve never heard of that one it must be new. My brother spent several years on medical certificates then had to fight to go the disability he had to be declared  all treatment concluded and he was never going to get better only worse
  • @Brenda5 that’s strange I’ve provided 3x3month certificates so far and touch wood they’ve been accepted. Speak to your doctor and see if there is anything they can do...good luck xx
