Yep, I'm sure there is a book there. Uni comes first for me though. I'm just imagining you having heart failure over some stranger looking at your photos online :) Not funny at the time I know but the description is priceless :) I'm not the gem in Griffith, they're the leveller in my life, more than they know at the moment. It's a mutual love in I guess. As you and others have said at least I have something to aim for all the time. There is no way I'm going to let go of my goals just for a rowdy group of cells that decided to have a party in my body, uninvited and unwelcome. Humph! Bring on the eviction cocktails.

You just send as many hugs as you have to spare Ms Jeanine. Yes, I'm amazed. The kindness is coming from people that I would have no expectations of. Now that I think of it, this happened to be when I had bowel cancer as well. One of my high school friends had a boyfriend who was a resident in the hospital where I was. He was hilarious (not so good when you have a tummy full of stitches) and also another young man (who I just said hello to on my way to work each morning) took a great interest in me, visited, flowers, took me out for dinner later in his kermit green porsche (not my type I found out later) but it was nice of him. My cousin, whom I'd not had a lot to do with sat with me day after day playing cards and watching movies with me in hospital. She's also hilarious. This time I didn't phone her to tell her until after my surgery because I knew she would be on the first plane from Cairns and waiting for me to come out of the anaesthetic. She can't do that because she has very important work to do rehabilitating turles that are sick or caught in nets. So I phoned her after surgery and what did she say? You should have told me I would have been on the first flight hahahaha.....I know my family well.
Worst case? hmmmm.....I can't decide, it's a bit half half at the moment with the nice people and the ones who need attitude adjustment. I would say the rude young nurse who was going to leave me sitting in the waiting room with a surgery gown and terry towelling robe for 5 hours has to be the winner right now. - JeanineGMemberHey ladies - we should start a group where all the ladies can post their worst encounter with insensitivity so everyone can see that it's a universal problem and shouldn't be taken personally (even if we wish we could ram certain weapons down/up certain body-parts in rage)! Cas - I'm so happy you have a focus outside of BC and something to work towards. Also, the people who really count are the ones who show you the kindness and courtesy you deserve under the circumstances. Luckily you have had that courtesy extended to you by your university. Try to just focus on that - hard to do sometimes, I know (lol) Sending hugs, xxx Jeanine Ps: I hope there's no limit on hugs since I've been sending them out left, right and centre :))))

I'd call you AK4F hahahahahaha... A five foot five and fiesty assualt weapon. I so wish I had been there :) I had some twit this morning, I was driving at the shopping centre doing about 15k and I just started on to a crossing as this large (read fat bogan) man and his equally large (read fat female bogan) wife and son stepped onto the crossing. Fortunately I had my windows up and the AC on. Well he abused me, danced around, gesticulated. I stopped, people turned around and looked. It was obvious that I'd got on to the crossing first because I was almost off it again and he was one step from the kerb. I just looked at him, thought about letting him have it, then thought no, wasted effort he won't understand, so I smiled, waved, and kept going. When I got into the shopping centre the three of them were standing in the doorway having a conversation, I walked past, smiled at her in sympathy and kept going. Thank GOD I don't have to go home to HIM every night. I feel sorry for the stupid receptionist's husband and children. So there :P
Keep writing Christine, put them in a diary, show someone in publishing so I can say I told you so. XXX - CasjsaMember
Christine !!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha, OMG girl you make me laugh and I'm only halfway through your post, just at the stage of ramming a gunhandle sideways down the radiologists throat hehehehe...... PLEASE become a writer of some description. Your talents are bursting to get out.

Love ya work Jeanine ((((mwah!))) and squeezing you till you squeek! :) I'm feeling much better today. Griffith University and staff are just being so caring and telling me that nothing is going to stop me getting where I want to go. They've given me fairly unlimited extensions on everything (within reason of their time allowances) and told me that I have to do my honours year next year. I've been told this morning by a relative, a retired doctor of microbiology that the university is pushing me so that they can grab me as a tutor in 2015. OK, that makes me smile, I think I would like that. It is all conjecture at the moment but the idea sits well with me. I like intelligent people hence why I participate here and I don't mind helping people to learn either.
Yep, karma usually bites those whose attitudes can do with some adjustment when they least expect it and secondly I have a long memory. :PCas X
- JeanineGMemberHi Cas You sound a little better now after reading everyone else's ridiculous stories :))) - the stupid insensitivity of staff, some nurses and some doctors seems to be contagious... We all just have to ride the wave. Who knows, maybe one day the awful woman who made me cry will, herself, be on the receiving end of the same treatment. You have to try to put it in perspective and focus on getting well. Sending more hugs, Xxx Jeanine
