You just send as many hugs as you have to spare Ms Jeanine. Yes, I'm amazed. The kindness is coming from people that I would have no expectations of. Now that I think of it, this happened to be when I had bowel cancer as well. One of my high school friends had a boyfriend who was a resident in the hospital where I was. He was hilarious (not so good when you have a tummy full of stitches) and also another young man (who I just said hello to on my way to work each morning) took a great interest in me, visited, flowers, took me out for dinner later in his kermit green porsche (not my type I found out later) but it was nice of him. My cousin, whom I'd not had a lot to do with sat with me day after day playing cards and watching movies with me in hospital. She's also hilarious. This time I didn't phone her to tell her until after my surgery because I knew she would be on the first plane from Cairns and waiting for me to come out of the anaesthetic. She can't do that because she has very important work to do rehabilitating turles that are sick or caught in nets. So I phoned her after surgery and what did she say? You should have told me I would have been on the first flight hahahaha.....I know my family well.
Worst case? hmmmm.....I can't decide, it's a bit half half at the moment with the nice people and the ones who need attitude adjustment. I would say the rude young nurse who was going to leave me sitting in the waiting room with a surgery gown and terry towelling robe for 5 hours has to be the winner right now.
