Ultrasound and clip placement

Hi ladies, next friday i have a ultrasound booked to see how my tumor is responding to chemo and they tell me they are placing markers. What should i expect, is it like the core biopsy or different. A bit scared but then I'm a real wuss when it comes to any medical procedures. God help me when it's time for actual operation, I've never had one in my life but that's about to all change.
  • Hulos, thanks. I'm already struggling to eat on taxol as everything tastes revolting and the taste in my mouth makes me wanna gag lol. It's all yuk and be glad to be done. X
  • Thank you LMK74, the initial chemo which was every 21 days made me very tired and sick feeling,  no vomiting, just wanting to be sick but not. The taste buds are non existing,  and i ate just to keep well and to ensure i am ok  for the next chemo.
I actually lost few kilos also,  would have lost more  but ate to keep well.
You will get there,  take one day at a time and soon you'll  back and wonder how you did it all....
    Good luck. .:):):)
  • Hulos, thanks for your reply. How good you've finished chemo. How did you do on ac?. I'm looking forward to this being over(chemo). I hope we never need to do this again. Good luck with op and radiation.
  • Hi Lmk74, i also had a clip put in recently, it wasn't  painful as they give you local anaesthetic, i think it's the  though that is scary.
All was done under an ultrasound..this is all new to me also.
I am almost finished my chemo of total 16 ( 4 ac + 12 weekly), the tumour of 4cm has shrunk immensely. .so i am delighted. ..waiting for the op and radiation afterwards .
Good luck with your treatment,  and just think  that it is to cure and make us better.
    Take care...:)
  • Katyjoy, thanks for your reply. Just wanted to know what I'm in for lol. I cried the entire time of the biopsies I was so scared. I'm just finishing taxol next Tuesday and then straight on ac  chemo following week. Not looking forward to it but my tumor has already shrunk, it was 6cm and huge as I'm only b cup. Just wish I didn't have to have chemo.
    Thanks again
    Lisa x
  • Hi LMK74, like you I had chemo prior to surgery. I had a marker put in to the middle of my tumour to track it. It was done under local anaesthetic like my core biopsies. For me it wasn't as painful as the core biopsies. It's kind of cool watching the tumour shrink on the scans, you know the chemos working. I hope yours shrinks like mine did. Good luck!
